White Elephant Gift Ideas That Everyone Will Want to Steal!
As the holiday season approaches, it’s time to start thinking about the best gifts to give to your family members, friends, and coworkers!

Adding some fun to your Holiday gathering: What better way to spread some holiday cheer and liven up holiday parties than through a white elephant gift exchange? This fun party game has also been called a “Yankee Swap” and is a great way to bring a group of people together and have a good time. And, it’s a fun way to learn a lot about people. Groups can get quite….um….lively. Out of all the gifts, people tend to gravitate toward the funny and unique ones, and then want to steal them from others…… And in this case, that’s allowed. It’s part of the rules, and it can be oh-so-fun to watch!!
The Basic Rules
If you’ve never heard of a white elephant gift exchange, or never coordinated one yourself, here’s how it works: Each person brings a wrapped, new gift within a specified price range – typically either under $10 or under $20.
Players draw a number randomly out of a bag or bowl and that tells you the order of gift choosing. The player who chose #1 would go first, and so on.
Players take turns choosing a wrapped gift from the pile and then unwrap for all to see. They can either keep the gift they’ve chosen or steal another player’s gift who has gone before them.
You can even set rules (if you want) as to how many times each gift can be stolen. Stolen meaning someone unwraps their gift and instead of keeping it, decides to “steal” someone else’s who has already gone, and give that person the gift they’d unwrapped. So so fun!!
